In pursuance of the directions of the Govt. of Assam, from the elegible candidates online applications are invited for filling up of 1052 posts of Constable (UB) & 663 posts of Constables (AB) in the Assam Police Recruitment 2026. Eligibility Criteria for Assam Police Constable Recruitment

The eligibility criteria for Assam police constable recruitment include nationality, educational qualifications, physical standard, age limit, etc. all are provided below. Candidates aspiring for this recruitment must ensure they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria.

Nationality: Applicant must be a Citizen of India and Permanent Resident of Assam.

Age Limit: The age of the Applicant must be between 18 years to 25 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants born not before 01-01-2001 and not later than 01-01-2008).

Salary: Pay Scale of Rs. 14000-70000/- with Grade Pay Rs. 5600/- and other Allowances, as admissible under the Rules.

Age Relaxation: Upper age limit for different categories are as under:

• SC, ST (P) and ST (H): 5 years
• OBC/MOBC: 3 years
• Home Guards/members of VDPs/ Civil Defence Volunteers (registered) who have served for a period of 3 (three) years or more: Additional 3 years
• 4 Former Members of Militant Organization (FMMOs) /SPOs: Additional 10 years

Educational Qualifications:

• Constable (UB): The candidates must be passed H.S. or Class XII from Govt. recognized Board or Council.
• Constable (AB): The candidates must be H.S.L.C or Class-X passed from Govt. recognized Board or Council.
• Applicants having educational qualification of Higher Secondary and above may apply for both Armed Branch & Unarmed Branch.

• Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination followed by Physical Standard Test (PST).

2. Applicants must register with their name exactly as per the HSLC Certificate. Father’s name and Mother’s name must also be entered correctly
3. After successful registration, an Application ID will be generated. Keep this ID safe for future reference.
4. Applicants can login to the portal using their Application ID or Registered Mobile Number along with Date of Birth.
5. Applicants are advised to keep the mobile number active and unchanged until the recruitment process is over.
6. After login candidates can apply for the relevant Advertisement, fill personal details, upload necessary documents, upload a photograph, signature, and fill academic details carefully.
